The big bold California Poppy Hoop is a design I made a few years ago and I decided to make a couple more pairs since it has been such a popular style. 
 
The California Poppy is often called the flame flower because of its vibrant orange and yellow blooms and its tendency to grow wild. But even more than its lovely flower, is the poppy’s seed pod that I’m drawn to as a jewelry maker. It has a slender, delicate shape that curves gracefully around on itself when dried. 
 
I cast the seed pods in sterling silver and then attached a minimalist sterling silver wire to complete the design, which keeps the attention on the perfectly round pod hoops. 
 
These earrings would pair especially well with any of my hoop charm necklaces.
