Hanging from this fine cable chain necklace is a cast mimosa blossom that swings from a ring made of square wire.  

I planted a mimosa tree in my backyard because I was awed by its beautiful pink flower clusters. These trees are also called Persian silk trees for their thread-like petals. Once the tree started to bloom, I discovered that even its buds have unusual, striking textures that make them great fun for jewelry.
 
This necklace pairs beautifully with the mimosa blossom earrings.
