Asymmetry reigns in the natural world. Perfection is not symmetrical. When I was a photo student in college - we had an assignment to photograph our face and then flip the negative and print it - then cut it in half vertically and put the two faces together. Needless to say, while I am not perfect - I am also definitely not symmetrical. Why am I telling you all this? I don't know - just thought of it - and maybe it relates to why I have started making a lot more of my one-of-a-kind earrings asymmetrical. This may be my favorite pair I've made yet. The combination of the deep and elegant green of the tourmaline, the depth and natural detail of the dendritic agate, and the deep mysterious lattice moonstones just look like they belong together. Even though they are pretty long, they are light and have great motion, color, and depth.
